Gold has fallen 8% from its peek, but still the demand seems to be low. One of the reasons being given for the lower volumes in india is the inauspicious Kamurta period beginning December 15 (till January 14).

During the Diwali time, gold touched an all time high of of Rs 18,300 per 10 gms during early-December. Gold touched it’s all-time high of $1,200 per troy ounce in the international market. However, gold prices have been declining since past 10 days and come down to $1,100 per troy ounce in the global market, while in the domestic market it is hovering at Rs 17,100 per 10 gms, an 8% down from its peak level.

Analysts expect renewed buying to happen at Rs 16,500 especially with teh marriage season over and no big festivals comming up.

Hi All, some good news for non-engineering graduates! Wipro is planning to hire 5000 people in the next 2 months. (Alas, they have to do the bhar payi of the thousands they sacked during recession times!) So, these 5000 seem to be both a combination of engineering and non-engineering grads.

And as part of their green strategy, they are planning to come up with a Micro windmill in hyderabad…I remember having written on these lines in a innovation idea I had given to them before I left

So, good for greenery and good for the new greens coming out of colleges..cheers guys!

Hey, people who love to tour exotic places… here’s a good offer that I have seen to Andaman and Nicobar Islands.. basically Port Blair and Havelock Island with 3 star accomodation.

This offer is from makemytrip.com . They are offering a 3nights portblair + 1 night at havelock for Rs20,000 on a  twin sharing basis. (of course per head). But thats gonna include air flights from Kolkata. (Of all places?!) and its costlier to take teh package from Delhi at Rs27000. But, typically if you call up their call centre, they prepare a personalized trip from any place.. well the price.. wouldn’t be teh same though I guess!

Hey to start off my posts on 12 anas, I got a good deal out for Pune to Hyderabad travellers. According to a news article that a friend pointed out to me, about a new flight launched by Air India for travellers from Pune to Hyderabad and thereafter Bangalore.

The flight, to fly every day except on Saturdays, is to take off from Bangalore at 8.10 am and will reach Hyderabad at 9.15 am and Pune at 11.15 am. On its return trip, it will take off from Pune at 3.20 pm and land in Hyderabad at 4.25 pm and at Bangalore at 5.45 pm.

So, for morning passengers from Hyderabad, you can reach Pune by 11.15 am. Similarly, start off early on a weekend by lunch time and reach Hyderabad by 4.30pm around. Dosen’t seem a bad idea at all.

So, if you ask, what is the big deal about this and weren’t there been services between Hyderabad and Pune earlier, the answer is that there were, but very costly, always arouns Rs5000+. These were the typical ATR engine (small) flights run by Kingfisher red, Jet Konnect and JetLite sometimes costing as much as Rs8000+ bucks. Typically on these ATR flights it seems the fuel surcharge is twice that of the normal planes and is Rs3000 per seat or so!!!

Anyways the new flights offer seats on 14-day advance booking for as low as Rs1910 only And on 7-day advance booking of Rs2675. SO, if you had a thought of flying between Pune and Hyderabad rather than taking a Volvo bus ride, this could be a pretty good alrenative.

Waiting for my chance to go to Hyderabad by this flights.. lets see! Have a great day guys..
